Emotional literacy for primary class teachers
Welcome back to school! Like you, it’s a busy time of year for me too. Among other things, I’m working on improving my website. Please bear with me-this basic formatting is temporary!
Below a free lesson & resources (PowerPoint and worksheets – 4 files total) to use with your new class.
This lesson focuses on emotional literacy. Identifying and naming feelings is important for reducing stress and anxiety, especially at the start of a new year.
Please forward this post to colleagues who would also love to try the activity. The lesson is available to download until 31 August.
If you found this useful, you might like to take a look at my emotional literacy activity cards. Each set has a range of emotion words accompanied by activities taken directly from my doctoral research. I recorded a massive improvement of over 300% of emotional vocabulary for the children in my research after they used the independent activities twice a week for about 4 months!
